MSc and PhD projects

Students with background in computer science, engineering or maths are preferred. If you are a highly motivated Undergraduate or Master’s student strong in math and programming, and interested in any of the topics below, please send your resume to me.

Master-by-Research and PhD projects under the supervision of Dr. Martinez-Marroquin are available in the following research areas:

  • Face Recognition
  • Visual Context Modeling
  • Human Action Recognition
  • Biometrics
  • Pattern Recognition
  • Machine Vision
  • Image Processing
  • Signal Processing

The call is addressed to self-motivated students that have a passion for learning and a desire to push forward the limits of current knowledge in the field.

The successful candidate has programming skills and a background in engineering, computer sciences, software engineering or related fields.

A limited number of Higher Degree by Research (HDR) scholarships are available. After agreeing the research proposal with me, candidates will have to pass the University of Canberra’s selection process, of which more information can be found at the relevant web pages for domestic students (permanent residents of Australia and nationals of New Zealand) and for international students, respectively.
